Biography

Drawing from his diverse interest in the variety of musical genres, August Emil Huelle has explored the realms of jazz, blues, rock, bluegrass, flamenco, ragtime, Latin and classical guitar. August's vast solo and ensemble experience -- including numerous jazz combos and big bands, various musicals, Baroque chamber ensembles, large scale choirs, rock/blues bands and multiple solo guitar recitals held through the Pacific Northwest, Southeast and Canada -- testifies to a prestige that has led to hours of air time of public televisions, Bellingham's KUGS radio station, invitations to the Northwest and Portland Guitar Festivals, multiple CD recordings, as well as several scholarships and awards which all has supported August in earning his bachelor degrees in Classical Guitar Performance and Music History from Western Washington University.
While maintaining an active performing schedule, August has participated in master classes directed by such guitar authorities as Ricardo Cobo and Rachel Gauk. August has also had the experience of performing with internationally renowned sitarist Kartik Shankar, whom is considered to be one of the foremost students of Ravi Shankar. Additionally, August has had the distinguished honor of performing solo repertory for such respected individuals as the mayors of Seattle and Bellingham, significant leaders such as the CEOs for Starbucks, REI, People's Bank and many others.
When not performing, August enjoys a full teaching studio which includes individual and group instruction.
